China Illustrata is a journal created by the Chinese Studies Scholarly Circle at the University of Warsaw. The founding of China Illustrata was guided by the idea of spreading the knowledge, promoting the academic life and creating a new image of Polish sinology as a complex and interdisciplinary area of study.
China Illustrata is an academic journal, that focuses on the publication of essays, reviews, and abstracts, as well as works in the field of translation studies. Publications contained in journal concern subjects related to broadly understood Chinese civilization, their research methods come from many academic areas, such as literary studies, historiology, cultural studies, linguistics or sociology.
Due to its interdisciplinary character, China Illustrata is supported by an extensive academic council of many specialists from various research institutes based in Europe. The works are published in Polish and in English.
